Area politicians seize National Livestock Development Board land
It has been revealed that some politicians are engaged in grabbing state lands under the guise of cultivating them amid the looming food crisis.
It is said that mostly regional politicians are engaged in this unethical and illegal practice.
A 20-acre plot of land in Narangalla Watta, Kuliyapitiya which belongs to the National Livestock Development Board has also been seized by a group of local politicians under the guise of cultivating it and the NLDB has lodged a complaint with the Kuliyapitiya Police.
The land, originally owned by the Land Reforms Commission, has been acquired by the NLDB after making a payment to the commission.
