A/L exam could be delayed by one month: Minister

The Advanced Level Examination (A/L) which was scheduled for November this year, would be delayed by one month, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said today.

He told Parliament that the results of the previous year's A/L examination was expected to be released on August 15.

Minister Premajayantha said the students should get at least three months after releasing the previous year's results so that those who are hoping to re-appear for the examination could prepare for it.

Responding to a question raised by Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister said the deadline for grade one admission could also be extended.

SJB MP Kiriella said some parents have requested that the deadline for grade one admission should be extended as most divisional secretariats were closed due to the present crisis. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
