Do not delay the process of transition- Saliya Pieris

At a special conference this afternoon (10) Bar Association of Sri Lanka President Saliya Pieris PC stated the country cannot have instability for a long period of time and urged the President, Prime Minister, Speaker, MPs, and politicalleaders to understand the gravity of the situation. He said they had an obligation to ensure the smooth transition of power.

He further added that political stability is needed to solve the urgent economic issues faced by the country. 

The BASL president also went on to request the public who are visiting the Presidential Secretariat, The President's House and Temple Trees to refrain from harming the properties.
