It is reported that the majority of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party parliamentarians are ready to vote in the election to appoint a president.
It was earlier reported that seven SLFP parliamentarians were ready to vote at the election but now it is said to have increased to 10.
Although the Sri Lanka Freedom Party had decided not to participate in the election of the President, the majority of the party has decided to vote, according to inside sources.
Former President Maithripala Sirisena said in a press conference recently that the members of his party will not vote in the election of the President.
In the last parliamentary election, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party got 14 seats.
In appointing new ministers under the current government, Sri Lanka Freedom Party parliamentarians Mahinda Amaraweera and Nimal Siripala de Silva hold the positions of Cabinet Ministers.
Previously, MPs Shanta Bandara and Suren Raghavan held Minister of State positions.
It is said that Nimal Siripala, Mahinda Amaraweera, Suren Raghavan, Shantha Bandara, Chamara Sampath and Jagath Pushpakumara have worked to reach an agreement with Acting President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
