Siripala - Renuka - Willy vie for Dhammika's MP seat

Reports say that there are three top contenders from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) for the MP post vacated due to the recent resignation of Dhammika Perera last week.

Southern Province Governor - Willy Gamage, SLPP Administrative Secretary - Renuka Perera and Central Environment Authority Chairman - Siripala Amarasinghe are said to be the top three contenders for the position.

The 03 individuals faced a similar situation when Basil Rajapaksa also resigned from his MP seat.

However, reliable sources say that it is highly likely that Mr. Amarasinghe, who is a close associate of Basil Rajapaksa, will be appointed to the position.
