Five OICs lose their posts!

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne has removed five police officers who held the position of Police Officer-In-Charge (OIC) posts with immediate effect from yesterday (26) and assigned them to normal duties.

In addition the IGP has promoted three police officers who were handling normal duties to the post of OIC.

Four Officers in Charge (OIC) were given transfers.

The OICs of Welipannagahamulla, Mihijaya Sevana, Elpitiya, Welioya and Horana police stations have lost their positions.

Police Inspector S.P. Rathnayake who was engaged in regular duty in the Ampara Police Division. has been appointed as the OIC of Bandaraduwa Police Station, E.G.G.T. Lakmal Kumara, who was engaged in regular duty in the Mullaitivu Division, has been appointed as the OIC of Welioya Police Station, Chief Inspector C.S. Panawala who has been engaged in regular police duty in the Galle Division has also been appointed as the OIC of the Horana Headquarters Police Station.

Vaddukkoddai Police Station Chief Inspector H.M.S.B. Gunatillake has been appointed as the Hindogama Police Station OIC and Hindogama Police Station Chief Inspector W.D.P.T. Costa has been appointed as the OIC of Vaddukkoddai, while the OIC of Delft Chief Inspector D.G.T. Dombagammana has been appointed as the Ududumbara OIC and Ududumbara OIC Chief Inspector K.M.D.N.D. Kangara has also been appointed as the OIC of the Delft Police Station.
