Investigation on British female involved in protest!
The Department of Immigration and Emigration has commenced an investigation regarding a British woman who had come to Sri Lanka under the category of medical resident visa and had got involved in the Galle Face protest and started a propaganda campaign on the Internet.
It has been revealed that she has been roaming the protest ground and other areas and had circulated videos of the struggle area through an Instagram account called kayzfra5er and a Facebook account.
In tears she claims that the security forces had pointed pistols at the heads of the protesters, adding that the Battaramulla military complex is not necessary for a country like this and appeals to the western countries to join forces to change the country.
It has also been revealed that this female had arrived in Sri Lanka on August 14th 2019 and as a therapist under a medical resident visa which she has been extending since and had been living in the Negombo and Malabe areas.
Immigration Controller General Sarath Rupasiri had told Aruna that an investigation is underway against her for violating the conditions of her visa, and that a decision on whether to extend her visa will be made based on the investigation.
