TNPF HQs attack being probed

Police have commenced investigations into the attack carried out upon the Tamil National People’s Front (TNPF) headquarters in Mullativu. Headquarters of Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam’s party TNPF reportedly came under attack last Friday (17). Subsequently a complaint was lodged at the Pudukudirippu Police by the TNPF district coordinator, T. Kilanthan.

It is reported that damage to the office windows and several other property had resulted from the attack, however it is alleged that the attackers had arrived at the office with the intention of setting it on fire. The attempt at arson was foiled due to the intervention of the locals of the area and the suspects fled the scene. According to reports, a group of eight unidentified individuals had arrived at the office on Saturday evening. Pudukudirippu Police are continuing investigations.
