Wannila Aththo requests vehicle from Sajith!

Veddha Chief Uruwarige Wannila Aththo has requested Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa to provide a vehicle to be kept at the Indigenous Heritage Museum since visiting villages to look into the problems of the Veddha people across the country has become an arduous task for the Vedda Chief.

The request was made during Mr. Premadasa's visit to Dambana in Mahiyanganaya last morning (10) to inquire about the well-being of Wannila Aththo.

Wannila Aththo said that there are many faults with the vehicle allocated by the Mahiyanganaya Divisional Secretariat for his transportation.

He said that Veddah people live in 62 villages in six districts across the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Premadasa said IUSF Convener Wasanta Mudalige is a friend of his. "We may have different political opinions, but is a young man who stands up against injustice."

The Opposition Leader inspected the Indigenous Heritage Museum and assured that he would provide the maximum level of assistance for the Vedda people.
