Heavy traffic reported in front of Kelani uni

Heavy traffic was reported on the road in front of Kelani University on the Kandy-Colombo main road due to a protest conducted by the Inter-University Students' Federation (IUSF).

Students and the police were seen gathered on both sides of the road. It was reported that at least 10 students were taken into police custody.

Water cannons and police officers with tear gas were on standby in front of the university to control the situation
