Father kills 29-year-old son

A murder has been reported on Friday (4) from the Udalupola area in the Ridigama police division where a father has reportedly killed his son, the police said.

The murder has taken place in early hours of Friday (4). The suspect had reportedly attacked the 29-year-old victim while he was asleep using an axe.

Initial investigations have revealed that the victim is addicted to narcotics and had been frequently troubling his parents asking for money, the police further said.

The suspect has been arrested after he surrendered to the Police and the body of the victim has been placed at the mortuary of Kurunegala hospital.

Ridigama Police are conducting further investigations.
