Mannar mass grave continues to surprise officials

Skeletal remains of 26 children have been so far unearthed following excavations at the Mannar mass grave.

NewsRadio Corresponded said accordingly skeletal remains belonging to 312 individuals have been so far unearthed from the Mannar mass grave site.

Meanwhile a sample of skeletal remains unearthed from the Mannar mass grave was sent for a carbon examination at a laboratory in Florida.

Judicial Medical officer engaged in the excavations Saminda Rajapaksa said the report pertaining to the matter is expected to be presented within this month. Rajapaksa also said the reports were ordered to be presented to the Mannar Magistrates Court.

Meanwhile 139 days have passed so far since the commencement of excavations at the site.
