Train derails in Habarana after colliding with Wild Elephant

One wild elephant was killed after it was knocked down by a speeding train in Hathares Kotuwa, Habarana on Friday (13) morning.

Sri Lanka Railways said another two wild elephants were injured in the accident.

The train bound to Colombo from Batticaloa was derailed following the incident in Habarana.

Sri Lanka Railways said that operations along the Batticaloa route were delayed, due to the derailment.
