Young Buddhist monk dies after mound of earth collapses on him

An 18-year-old Buddhist monk was fatally injured when he was buried under a large mound of earth while performing a puja at Edanduwewa Purana Rajamaha Viharaya in Peradeniya last night.

Peradeniya Police said the monk died after being admitted to the Peradeniya Hospital with serious injuries.
