MP and 17 others arrested in Jaffna released on bail

Tamil National People's Front MP Selvarajah Kajendren and 17 others who were arrested for engaging in a protest violating a court order in Jaffna, were released on bail.

Police said that the Jaffna Magistrate had released each of them on a personal bail of Rs 300,000 each.

Also, the magistrate strongly warned them not to enter the high-security zones and to obey the orders given by the court.

They were arrested on Saturday for engaging in a protest in violation of a court order in Jaffna
