Tamilnadu budget: Rs 28757.62 cr set aside for School Education Dept
Announcing the Tamilnadu budget for the year 2019-20, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam announced Rs 28757.62 crores to be set aside for School Education Department and Rs 4584. 21 crores for Higher Education Department.
The government also announced 240 units of Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System, 160 units Lsat Phone, 2 Satellite Phone and 160 units of Navtex instruments to 80 clusters or fisher folk, especially deep sea fishing boats.
Rs 12563.83 crore has been allocated for Department of Health and Family Welfare and Rs 1297.83 crore for Transport Department, Rs 766 crore has been allocated for free bus passes for students.
Also Rs 18560.77 crore for TANGEDCO and Rs 476.26 crore for MSMEs in the state has been announced.
