Thisara’s Victorians crowned BPL Champs

Comilla Victorians emerged as the champions of the 6th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League T20 cricket tournament after beating Dhaka Dynamites by 17 runs in the final at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur last night.

It was for the 2nd time Comilla Victorians clinched the BPL title.

Comilla Victorians piled up a fighting total of 199 for the loss of three wickets after Tamim Iqbal made an unbeaten with 141. His 61-ball innings was decorated by 11 sixes and 10 fours.

Then they restricted Dhaka Dynamites to 182 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

Opener Upul Tharanga made 48 from 27 balls which included three sixes and four fours. Wahab Riaz of Comilla Victorians grabbed three wickets for 28 runs, while Thisara Perera and Mahammad Saifuddin bagged a pair of wickets each.

Tamim Iqbal was adjudged the Man of the Match.
