Big Bash League: Nathan Coulter-Nile taken to hospital after onfield collapse
Big Bash League: Perth Scorchers pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile looked in discomfort and sat on the ground holding his head after the completion of the 18th over against Adelaide Strikers. Coulter-Nile was also taken to the hospital.
Perth Scorchers pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile was on Saturday taken to the hospital after he felt unwell during a Big Bash League match against Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval.
The incident happened after the 18th over when Coulter-Nile looked in discomfort and sat on the ground holding his head.
Coulter-Nile came on to bowl the 18th over, with Strikers needing 23 runs from 18 balls.
Coulter-Nile started off well by removing Wells off his first ball for his second wicket in the match. Then he conceded 3,1,1 off the next three deliveries.
The next ball was hit for a four by Harry Nielsen when he edged to get a boundary towards the third man region.
It was then when Coulter-Nile signalled towards his team's dugout and then spoke to the Scorchers skipper Mitchell Marsh. He, however, continued to complete his over and was hit for a six on the final ball of his fourth over.
He immediately sat down on the ground after completing his over and was attended by the Scorchers' staff and the Cricket Australia doctor on duty. He was then taken off the field.
Coulter-Nile was also seen resting in the Scorchers' dressing room after the match before being taken to the hospital.
