Welfare benefits payments to be made before end of June?

The Welfare Benefits Board says it has thus far received at least 3.7 million applications for welfare benefit payments.

Its chairman B. Wijayaratne said applications submitted by nearly 3.2 million households have been verified.

According to him, the welfare benefits payments are expected to be made before the end of June after receiving the approval of the parliament and the Cabinet of Ministers.
