The Tamil National Alliance says it has not put forth any conditions to repeal the Prevention of Terrorism Act in return of supporting the 2019 Budget.
In reply to tweet by United People's Freedom Alliance Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa the TNA condemned claims that the party urged the government to repeal the Prevention of Terrorism Act if it wishes to obtain the party's support for the 2019 Budget.
The Tamil National Alliance noted certain members of the UPFA including MP Dinesh Gunawardena who are part of the relevant Sectorial Oversight Committee have been demanding that the Prevention of Terrorism Act should be repealed while also not enacting the Counter Terrorism Act in its place.
The Tamil National Alliance claimed the party is of the same stance pertaining to the PTA.
