Due to Sri Lanka’s Covid-19 protocols South Africa makes changes to the touring party

South Africa will tour Sri Lanka to play three ODIs and three T20 games during the period September 2-14, though a number of their frontline players have either been rested, injured or opted out due to COVID protocols in Sri Lanka.

South African bowling coach, Charl Langeveldt, and fast bowler Junior Dala will no longer take part in the
tour due to COVID-19 protocol related reasons in Sri Lanka. Lutho Sipamla will replace Dala, and Momentum Multiply Titans head coach, Mandla Mashimbyi, will replace Langeveldt. Justin Sammons has been called up into the management team as a batting consultant.

Key batsman Quinton de Kock and seamer Lungi Ngidi are rested, while hard-hitting middle-order batsman David Miller is recovering from injury. All are expected to be available for the T20 matches which begin from Sept 10.

South Africa’s departure to Sri Lanka is scheduled on Wednesday (25 August).
