The decision on whether or not to extend the current qurantine curfew will be announced on Friday (27), the Health Ministry said today.

Director-General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena told the media that a decision will be taken after analyzing the situation on Friday.

The National Covid Prevention Committee is expected to meet on Friday under the aegis of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.

The current qurantine curfew will be in effect until 04.00 am on Monday, the 30th of August.

Earlier, the Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) had requested the Government to further tighten travel restrictions to contain the spread of the coronavirus.
