Sithulpawwa robbers under arrest

Seven suspects have been arrested on charges of having defaced an ancient structure at the Sithulpawwa sacred grounds located within the Yala National Park.

The Police said the suspects were arrested yesterday over the incident that had taken place at the mystical rock and cave temple complex on Wednesday (01).

The suspects are reported to have defaced the ancient structure and stolen several ancient artifacts as well.

One suspect had been arrested soon after the theft, while investigations had been launched to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the crime.
