Vaccination card to be a must at public spaces?
Several key decisions had been taken at the COVID-19 Prevention Committee meeting which was held at the Presidential Secretariat earlier today (29).
It has been decided tolift the inter-province travel restrictions at 4:00 am on Oct. 31, 2021.
Meanwhile, it had been decided to take the necessary measures to re-open schools for G.C.E. Ordinary Level & G.C.E. Advanced Level students as per health guidelines issued. The President has also instructed to look into the possibility of starting academic activities for first years at universities.
It was also decided to explore the possibility of the vaccination card being made mandatory when entering public places, stores as well as restaurants.
The COVID-19 committee was informed that the Attorney General’s advice was sought over seeking legal action against those who refuse to obtain the vaccine. Health Officials had noted that provisions to this effect exist within the COVID-19 regulations.
