Most corrupt government in history is this government - Gammanpila
This is the first time in history that a project has been awarded to a non-tendered company while the tenders submitted for a project are being evaluated, said Leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya, Minister of Energy Udaya Gammanpila.
The Minister also said that it is regrettable that the present government is engaged in more serious corruption far worse than the JR era, Premadasa era, Chandrika era and Ranil era, which were branded as extremely corrupt eras.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the People's Council held in Colombo by 11 government partners against the awarding of the LNG supply monopoly to an American company.
The Minister said that as long as there are gas power plants in Sri Lanka, the key to controlling them will be given to the United States through this agreement.
He further said that this agreement is a threat to national security in all respects, adding that not only his ministerial post, he is ready to make any sacrifice to speak out against this agreement.
