All schools will be reopened on November 08th!
It is reported that all government and government approved schools are scheduled to be fully operational from November 8.
Schools will be reopening after a lapse of seven months.
Accordingly, the Ordinary Level and Advanced Level classes, which had not yet commenced under the third phase, will commence on or around November 8.
The Ministry of Education hopes to reopen and return to normalcy 10,155 schools in Sri Lanka from that date.
Health recommendations to recommence GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level classes in all schools have already been received.
The government has also decided to lift the existing provincial travel restrictions on October 31 at 4 am and is also looking into the possibility of making the vaccination card mandatory at public places such as shops, restaurants etc.
The Ministry of Education stated that the attendance of principals at schools which opened last week was 97%, the attendance of teachers was 94% and the attendance of students was 70%.
