J / Kayts- Karainagar ferry service being still risky travelling! No effect in making complaints!!

People travel across the water way between Karainagar – Kayts in Island sides in Jaffna with fear and peril after Kinniya incident.

Those who travel in the ferry service along this route say this ferry service too has been in risky condition relying on an old cable system only.

People who travel through this ferry are being mostly government servants work in Kayts D.S. office, hospital and Magistrate Courts. They travel with great risk to cross the sea way through this ferry service.

Following many complaints made by people of both Karainagar and Kayts in 2015 to the government of Good Governance and in 2021 to the present government, it has been said every time that 1700 million rupees were allocated to build up a 500 meter bridge across this water way. But still it seems that everything has been put away.
