Basil forced to resign over fuel price hike!
It is reported that a proposal is to be submitted by the government allies to the Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa to resign from his ministerial post immediately, over his decision to increase the price of fuel at a time when the people are severely suffering economically.
The Leader has reported that the relevant press release is currently being drafted and that the increase in the price of fuel in Sri Lanka has been seen as a mistake by the partner parties as the price of oil in the world market has reduced.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has hiked fuel prices with effect from midnight on Monday (20) and the Ceylon IOC has also increased its fuel prices with effect from yesterday (21).
