Present Govt cannot even run a chicken farm like this: Anura Kumara Dissanayake

The Leader of the National People’s Power Anura Kumara Dissanayake alleged at a district conference held in Puttalam on Sunday (20) that the present Government would not even be able to run a chicken farm in the way they are functioning now.

Pointing out that the Government has failed to punish those responsible for the Easter Sunday Attack, Dissanayake stated that the market for the Presidents’ brand of national security was automatically created after the Easter attack, and automatically the people had high hopes of a President who would bring its perpetrators to justice,.

Stating that although the former IGP and the former Defense Secretary were taken to Court and 855 charges were filed against them by the Attorney General’s Department, Dissanayake stated that both have now been acquitted and released, and the people have been left hopeless while the Government failed its responsibility to the people.

Emphasizing that by this April it would be three years since the Easter Attack took place, the NPP Leader said that when it becomes five or six years, the entire case will be lost in the sands of time.

Meanwhile, Dissanayake also said that a situation of anarchy has been created as nobody wants to claim responsibility anymore. Some Ministers, he said, are arguing in broad daylight and people are even looking forward to such brawls taking place.

Speaking further, the NPP Leader questioned as to why Ministers such as Udaya Gammanpila and Gamini Lokuge are having issues with one another and are even threatening each other, while many in the Government do not seem to be in par with each others’ policies.

” Some people tell me that a minister cannot even meet the President. He goes to the office at eight and comes home at seven and goes home to eat lunch at 1. That should not be the way that a country is being run. Not a country, but even a chicken farm cannot be run by a system like that,” he added.
