’’I will not leave Sri Lanka and will answer all allegations’’ - Cabraal
Ajith Nivard Cabraal, former Central Bank Governor who resigned from his post earlier this week, said he will not leave Sri Lanka and will instead answer all allegations leveled at him by various parties.
Following rumors that Cabraal had left the country soon after he resigned as the CBSL Governor, Cabraal told Daily Mirror that, unlike certain other Governors, he will not leave.
"Further as everyone in this country knows, I have always dealt with malicious and hateful allegations in a calm, dignified and professional manner, and I will do that in this instance as well," Cabraal said.
The Colombo Chief Magistrate's court this week issued an order preventing Cabraal from leaving the country until April 18.
The Additional Magistrate also issued notices ordering the former Central Bank Governor to appear in court on April 18.
