April 20 to be a national day of protest!

The collective of unions and mass organizations has decided to declare April 20 as a national day of protest and to mobilize the working masses who will continue to strike in the workplace.

Speaking on behalf of the collective, President of the Federation of Health Professionals - Ravi Kumudesh said all trade unions in Sri Lanka are working together with the collective.

Kumudesh adds that on behalf of the working people of the country, he expresses deep disgust on a blind eye being turned to the people who are fighting for an independent public opinion.

He added that the trade unions and the mass organizations had decided to make an unconditional contribution to ensure the victory of the people's struggle.

Meanwhile, the collective staged a protest march yesterday starting in front of the Lake House building before marching towards the demonstration ground at Galle Face where thousands of protesters have been continuing protests for over 08 consecutive days.
