15 Ministers of a limited cabinet to be set up !
President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has stated before former Cabinet ministers that a new, limited Cabinet of ministers will be appointed to run the government.
The meeting was held at the President's House last night (16).
The President has reportedly stated that he is acting in accordance with the Constitution and will not put a toe out of line.
During the meeting, a lengthy discussion had taken place on how to continue government activities in the face of the crisis.
Several former ministers have stated that they do not want ministerial posts and to appoint a group of youngsters instead, political sources say.
Sources also add that the new Cabinet will only consist of 15 ministers and will be sworn in either today (17) or tomorrow.
However, it is learnt that Chamal Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa and Shashindra Rajapaksa will not be appointed to this Cabinet.
Sources further note that Gamini Lokuge, Bandula Gunawardena, Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Johnston Fernando and Rohitha Abeygunawardena will also not be a part of the Cabinet.
