Pope to conduct special prayer in Vatican with SL Easter Sunday attack victims
Pope Francis is to conduct a special prayer service on behalf of the Easter Sunday bomb blast victims in Vatican tomorrow (Monday April 25) together with the Sri Lankan bishops and a group of persons who were wounded in the attack, Archbishop of Colombo His Eminence Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith who is in Vatican, said today.
Speaking via Facebook Cardinal Ranjith said the group of people who are currently in Vatican will also meet Pope Francis after the service.
"This will not be a political event, only a service held on behalf of those who were affected by the Easter Sunday mayhem. We only want to show the world their plight," Cardinal Ranjith said.
"We were pushed to seek the assistance of the international community to find out the truth behind the attacks as many facts have been swept under the carpet," he added.
"We have spent a minimum amount for this trip to Vatican. A kind hearted donor from Sri Lanka had sponsored for this tour," he also said.
