Don’t be deceived by political dramas: Sajith

One should not get deceived by the political dramas which aims to change Presidents and Prime Ministers, but should join the Samagi Jana Balawegaya's (SJB) struggle to push the present government out of power, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said today.

Speaking to the media during the SJB protest march which kicked off from Kandy, Mr. Premadasa said the aim of the protest march from Kandy to Colombo is to drive the present regime out of power through a real struggle of the people.

"We will reach Colombo on May 1 to commemorate May Day on that day. Later we will have more protest marches to topple the government. We invite everyone to join us in the struggle. Done get deceived with dramas to change Presidents and Prime Ministers,” he said.

MP Harin Fernando said this will be the final struggle to remove President Gotabaya Rajpaksa , Prime Minister and the government from power.

“We invite all political parties to join in this final struggle. We also hope to become a tower of strength to those who have already taken to the streets against this government,” he said.

He said the protest march which reached Mawanella will reach Galigamuwa today while it will reach Danowita on Thursday.

It will proceed to Danowita Yakkala on Friday and from there to Peliyagoda on Saturday. The protest march will reach Colombo on Sunday May 1, 2022. According to SJB General Secretary Ranjith Maduma Bandara, the party will have its May Day Rally at Independence Square.
