Siyambalapitiya tipped again for dy. Speaker post

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has stated they will back Ranjith Siyambalapitiya as the Deputy Chairman.

MP Nimal Siripala de Silva has proposed Ranjith Siyambalapitiya as the deputy Speaker and GL Peiris has said that the government will support that proposal.

Meanwhile, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya has nominated Imithiaz Bakeer Markar for the post.

A new deputy Chairman is to be elected today after Siyambalapitiya resigned from his post.
