Gunshots fired at house of People's Protest activist

Police protection has been provided for a house of an activist at the apolitical people's protest, reports say.

Gunshots had been fired recently at the house, located in Nawana, Nikaweratiya.

Although no one has been injured, a gunshot had hit a wall, just above the head of the activist's teenage sister, who has been studying for the GCE Ordinary Level Exam, which will commence later this month.

Angry residents of the area charge that supporters of SLPP MP - Johnston Fernando, are behind this incident.
