Russian flight detained in Katunayake after court order
A Moscow bound Russian state-owned Aeroflot aircraft has not been allowed to leave the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake today due to a court order.
According to reports, passengers on board the flight have, however, disembarked.
It has been reported that the flight has not been allowed to leave due to a commercial dispute with the aircraft leasing company.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka is reportedly in discussions with the Attorney General (AG) for a solution with regard to the matter.
The enjoining order was issued by Colombo Commercial High Court Judge after hearing a complaint filed by Celestial Aviation Trading Limited, an Irish company.
The enjoining order will remain for two weeks.
