Sri Lankan Muslims allowed to fly for Hajj under several conditions
Minister of Religious Affairs Vidura Wickramanayake has granted permission to send Hajj pilgrims from Sri Lanka this year.
The Government of Saudi Arabia has given a quota of 1585 pilgrims from Sri Lanka for 2022.
During a meeting with Hajj Tour Operators’ Associations, Minister Wickramanayake issued instructions to make arrangements as per the guidelines of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.
The Minister has also instructed the tour operators’ to levy a reasonable amount as the charges for the Hajj pilgrimage this year.
A transfer of US Dollars 1,500/- from overseas to a designated US Dollar account in Sri Lanka has been announced as a requirement for the purpose of the Hajj pilgrimage.
Sri Lankans who are interested in undertaking the Hajj pilgrimage this year have been advised to confirm their participation before the 10th of June 2022.
