Public transport stalls..!

While private vehicle operations have been stalled due to the fuel shortage, there is a risk of public transport and private bus services being significantly disrupted.

The Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association says that due to the acute shortage of diesel, private bus services will be disrupted by 90 percent tomorrow.

While diesel was made available through SLTB depots earlier, this has also been affected currently.

In addition to the diesel shortage, even the petrol shortage has reached an acute stage by now. As a result of fuel sheds not receiving the fuel stocks they have ordered, many fuel stations from Colombo and outstations have had to close down.
