Four arrested over Kandakadu inmates death!

Two Army personnel and two Air Force personnel have been arrested over the death of an inmate at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Centre, according to the police

As a result of the death of the inmate, violence broke out at the rehabilitation centre on the 28th night.

By the following morning (29), around 6,00 inmates had breached the security fences and had fled the rehabilitation centre amidst the violence.

While a section of those who escaped have surrendered to the authorities, a joint operation by the Army and the Police is underway to apprehend the rest, according to the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation Dharshana Hettiarachchi.
