National Fuel Pass to be introduced today

The Government will introduce a National Fuel Pass  for fuel distribution today at 12.30 pm.   

In a tweet, Energy minister Kanchana Wijesekara stated that a guaranteed weekly fuel quota will be allocated for one vehicle per NIC with a QR code, once the vehicle chassis number and details are verified. 

A shipment of 40,000 metric tonnes of diesel reached Sri  Lanka last night (15),while another diesel shipment is set to reach the island today (16).   

A petrol shipment meanwhile, is due to arrive tomorrow (17) and another next Friday.
