Accordingly, the department states that thundershowers could be experienced from time to time in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces, Galle and Matara districts today (3).
Some places in the Sabaragamuwa province, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts may receive around 100 mm of heavy rain today.
Furthermore, the Department of Meteorology stated that the wind speed may increase to 50 kilometers per hour from time to time in the western slopes of the central mountains, as well as in the north-central, western, northwestern and southern provinces.
In addition, the landslide risk notification issued for 08 districts has been further extended.
The National Building Research Organization stated that the risk notice imposed on those districts has been extended until 07.30 tonight (03).
Meanwhile, due to inclement weather, three people have died and four others are reported missing.
The Disaster Management Center says that the number of people affected by the inclement weather in four provinces has exceeded 11,000.
