Calls for Dhanushka Ramanayake, Saman Ratnapriya to be arrested!

If the Sri Lanka Teachers' Union Secretary Joseph Stalin was arrested on charges of staging protests in a manner that caused harassment to the public, then it should be revealed to the country why the Director General of the President's Trade Union Saman Ratnapriya, who had been involved in the Galle Face protest since the beginning, was not be arrested, said the President of the Trade Union Coordination Center Ravi Kumudesh.

He said not just him, but President Ranil Wickremesinghe and Presidential Media Director General Dhanushka Ramanayake, who supported and funded the struggle to oust Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, should also be arrested.

On July 9, 2021, while Ranil Wickremesinghe was an opposition member, he told parliament that the arrest of Joseph Stalin is anti-democratic and the country may be discredited internationally and the country may lose concessions such as GSP.

Kumudesh noted that it is problematic that a person who made such a statement has now sanctioned the arrest of Joseph Stalin.
