Probe into alleged helmet attack on State Minister
An investigation has been launched into the alleged attack on State Minister of Primary Industries Chamara Sampath Dasanayake using a motorcycle helmet.
According to the Daily News, the state minister had been attacked with a helmet by two individuals in Bandaranaike Mawatha in Badulla on Monday (19) evening.
The Badulla Police said the attack had taken place after the state minister had stopped his car near a shop belonging to a member of the local council in Badulla and was engaged in a conversation.
Two intoxicated individuals had engaged in an argument with State Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake and had allegedly assaulted him with a motorcycle helmet.
The Badulla Police has launched an investigation into the incident.
