Sri Lanka yet to pay for Crude Oil shipment; Vessel reached port forty-days ago

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation on Friday (21) said that it has not been able to make payments for a Crude Oil shipment of 100,000 MT anchored in the Port of Colombo.

This particular shipment reached Sri Lanka over 40 days ago, and the shortage of Crude Oil has also forced the closure of the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery.

However, the Ministry of Power and Energy announced that it made a payment for a Diesel shipment that reached Sri Lankan shores. This shipment contained 40,400 MT of Diesel.

In addition, a payment was also made for a shipment of Jet Fuel, and the cargo is being unloaded.
