Four more taxes from November!

The government will introduce four more taxes to increase the state revenue from November, Finance Ministry sources said.

It was reported that these taxes are named as wealth tax, land tax, property tax and estate tax and the percentages of the taxes have not been decided yet.

International support organizations including the World Bank have recommended to the government that the annual direct tax revenue currently received by the government should be increased.

These institutions have strongly recommended to the government that the state revenue of Rs.2,056 billion in 2022 should be increased to Rs.3,500 billion in 2023.

New taxes will be implemented based on these recommendations.
