Rupavahini in trouble over false news on Nalanda principal
Principal of Nalanda College in Colombo, Thilak Wattuhewa is to send a letter of demand to Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC) for having carried completely false news with regard to him.
He is presently in India on official duty as president of the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.
However, the noon and evening news telecasts of SLRC last friday (16) claimed Wattuhewa had left the school cricket awards ceremony as he did not get a seat in the front.
President of the past pupils’ association of the school, Ajith Galappatti, too, has written to the news director of SLRC, condemning the news article and announcing legal action.
The letter claimed great harm to the good name of the school and its principal from the said news.
