Sergeant arrested over firearm & ammo missing from Ratmalana SLAF base

A T-56 firearm and 120 rounds of ammunition are reported missing from the Air Force base in Ratmalana, the police reported.

An air force sergeant has been arrested in connection with the robbery that happened on February 20.

The missing weapon and the ammunition were later recovered buried in a vegetable plot in Anguruwatota, Panadura.

The suspect will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.
